LEAGUE INFORMATION FOR 2015-2016 Timmins Selects Womens Basketball League League starts Thursday October 3, 2024 Games will be played Thursdays and Sundays 7:00pm and 8:30pm at OICS In a 4 team league, each team will play 18 games plus playoffs In a 5 team league, teams will play 20 games plus playoffs In a 6 team league, teams will play 20 games plus playoffs Playoff format Top 4 teams advance 1st round - Single Elimination Finals - Best of 3 Games
Fees $1800 per Team ($800 paid in full first game of the season, Remaining balance due Thursday October 31, 2024.) (Any teams not fully paid after October 31, 2024 will forfeit their games games until payment is recieved) Cost Break Down Score keepers - $40 Per game Officials - $110 per game (Subject to change based on PBOA Pricing) Other Costs - Basketballs, Shot Clock Maintainence, Insurance, Gym Rental, Admin Fee, prizes) Please email timminsselects@gmail.com to cancel games in advance. NEW Any games forfeited after 3pm of game day will result in a $50 penalty. No games will be rescheduled or replayed under any circumstances.
Disciplinary Procedures 2 Technicals in a single game = 1 game suspension 3 Accumulated technical fouls = 1 game suspension Any technical fouls after this point will result in a 1 for 1 suspension, to carry on for the remainder of the season and playoffs. 6 technical fouls = suspension from league until reviewed by committee Flagrant Foul = minimum 1 game and reviewed by committee Fight = automatic 3 game suspension and reviewed by committee Contact with Referee = 1 year suspension ***Committee will be comprised of a minimum of 3 team representatives, OBOA member and Commissioner
Roster Rules Full Rosters must be emailed at least 1 week before the season begins. Players must play in a minimum of 5 games to be eligiable for playoffs. No players can be added to a roster after December 31, 2024 ***In the event there are substantial injuries, the team will meet with the board that consists of team captains from each team to vote on allowing new players to join. In the event that a team forfeits the season, no refund will be given. All players must be 18 years of age or older. Rules Modified FIBA rules apply (High School 3pt Line) All players must have matching Jerseys with numbers on the front and back. NO JEWLERY OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED.
INJURIES AND CLUB INSURANCE Should you get injured during the season, you must advise the Club of the nature and seriousness of the injury.
Once you have been seen by a medical doctor, the Club must be notified immediately of the extent of the injury. There are specified timelines that are required to be met in order to receive the Club Insurance. Each player receives insurance with Ontario Basketball. It is important to note that the policy is an excess policy, meaning that all other insurance options must first be exhausted before this coverage will be applicable (for instance, your coverage through your employer/spouse's employer). Our Insurance Broker must be notified within 30 days and claim documentation to be followed within 90 days. In order to make a claim, you must be registered with Ontario Basketball which is included with the registration fee. More information on the Club's Insurance Policy is available upon request.
It is important to note that the participation waiver was agreed upon during the registration process and the Club and its members (including coaches, officials, volunteers and club representatives) shall not be held liable in any way for any injury obtained before, during or after the course of the season.
